Wanczuk Scholarship

The scholarship commemorates Gary Wanczuk, a member of an old ranching family from the Hemet area who became the Chair of the Western Riverside County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP) Advisory Committee. His friends and family created the CCB scholarship fund to honor his love of the land and his untiring efforts in bringing people together to find solutions to benefit environmental planning in Riverside County.

Criteria


Applicants must be full time undergraduate students at the University of California, Riverside, currently in their junior or senior year. Applications will be evaluated by a special subcommittee of the Steering Committee for UCR's Center for Conservation Biology according to the following criteria:

1)  Student's contribution to conservation and/or environmental planning in Riverside
County, with special emphasis on collaborative planning efforts.
2)  Conservation or planning-related coursework.
3)  Other community-related experience.
4)  Letters of recommendation.
5)  Student's potential for future contributions to conservation and/or environmental
planning.
